MORE THAN BLUE REVIEW: Is This Filipino Film Worth Your Time?
Recently, Filipino films and shows have become increasingly popular on Netflix Philippines. This may be due to the growth of compelling tales and distinct filmmaking styles that encourage audiences to watch and support the local film and television industry. The most recent film to rise to the occasion and generate a great deal of attention is More Than Blue, a romantic comedy that has continually held the number one slot on Netflix PH, which is why we chose to watch and review it.
More Than Blue is a guaranteed emotionally attacking, tear-draining, and worthy-of-time-spending movie from the beginning to the last scene at its best. It is factual; though the film is just made up of one's imaginative thinking, true and unconditional love can exist. Even if it hurts, you will do everything for that person because you love them, and no question needs to be answered. I believe that someone who always sets aside their satisfaction to prioritize others can easily relate to K's experience. I think that when a person truly loves someone, they won't see what they do as an unacceptable or doubtful act but as an invaluable expression of their purest intention to someone. The story is not full-packed with quotable quotes, unlike the others that will make you use those over and over again. Still, it deals with realistic and relatable situations you may encounter daily. This movie is well-crafted and flawlessly performed, as if every actor was born to play such an essential role in this masterpiece. Each line was carefully thought of and has made total sense with the entire plot. If I am to think over the title with all of my wit, I could say that it must have been entitled like that because of how the color blue is perceived in several ways from different parts of the world. To one it represents loyalty, others hope, sacredness, heaven, healing, trust, serenity, depression, loneliness, mourning, and even sacrifice. The emotions from the characters all seem together at the same time, which seems more than blue. Overall, it is truly wonderful and devastating in a satisfying way, so all the tears were worthy. More Than Blue is a film with an intriguing story. Nuel Naval directed it, and Jc Santos and Yassi Pressman played K and Cream in both. The film has many twists and turns while also being thrilling, tearful, and humorous. K and Cream's story begins at the school where they met. Both of them are orphans. Cream has no parents, whereas K is abandoned by his mother because his mother has cancer and does not want his son K to suffer. It ends up hurting as they love each other, but Keith can't be with her forever because of his illness. But what can we do? More Than Blue is inspired by a Korean film that, based on my research, has the meaning of "A Story Sadder Than Sadness." It begins with the two main characters, JC Santos and Yassi Pressman. I can say that the movie was full of sweetness, doubts, and love. Great choice of film to review and watch! Yassi and JC are phenomenal; they are both great actors and actresses, no doubt, they're both sensational in this film like the film was oozing in heartfelt emotions, and their roles speak a lot, so realistic, and I can see the love chemistry of JC and Yassi. You know what, I can tell you guys that this film was great. As I was watching the movie, I couldn't hold my tears. I'm such an emotional person, and this hits me. The movie revolves around two lovers who can't take commitment because of the consequences it may bring in the future. The film can make you feel hopeful in life, but you can eventually do anything to change your faith if you learn to take a risk sometimes. For me, the story is a tearjerker, and I know many people can identify with it because of the problems and difficulties depicted in the film, which we all face at times. Titled "More than blue," they call it the saddest movie trending right now on Netflix. The performers and the stars are Yassi Pressman and Jc Santos. Based on what I watched in this story, there is a man who cannot express his feelings for the woman. He prefers to hide it not to hurt the woman he secretly loves. This story was based on their love, sacrifice, and pain, but the most crucial aspect was that the two were not separated even though they had died. And the acting in this film was fantastic. It's an excellent emotional web series. Everything is perfect in terms of acting, dialogue, and background music. Both main characters are very genuine in their depiction of their roles. This level of creativity made me cry at least 100 times. I adore this content. The story is incredible. I'm pretty sad and tearful in the end, but that's what true love is. It's emotional and entertaining, with lively characters and music. It's a fun film to watch. It matters to people who genuinely love; even if you know the person will be hurt, you prefer to love it secretly. The lesson I learned is that as long as we live, we choose to be happy and genuinely love, even if we know we are at a disadvantage to that person; gambling is not bad because it is more important than showing how you truly feel to someone. It virtually gives the film's finale so blatantly, but it does so to keep the movie enjoyable to watch. It keeps us on our toes as spectators as we wait to see how everything plays out. More Than Blue succeeds in this area. The pacing is a little confused at times, as it slows down towards the middle, but it soon regains its footing and keeps going strong until the very end. Some scenes may be fuzzy and cringe, but all in all, Nuel Naval, the director, did a great job of finishing this masterpiece. This movie employs various literary elements that give the film a great flow of scenarios, such as flashbacks, symbolism, and foreshadowing. Also, it shows multiple camera angles that make the cinematography more appealing and relevant to its theme. It enhances the mood and the characterization of the actors. The camerawork and visuals might not be perfect, but everything is prepared simply and neatly. In addition, the plot for me may be cliche, but still, this movie will mark on our hearts. This movie symbolizes the quote, "Simplicity is beauty." It shows that you don't need extravagant settings to create a good film. This film is very emotional, and everyone will binge-watch it.
